LLumar IRX vs CTX: choosing ceramic tint in Georgia

Choose the series and shade together. IRX and CTX are LLumar ceramic tint options, but a series name alone does not specify how much light the finished window will transmit. Start with your vehicle, the windows to cover and the balance you want between comfort, visibility and appearance.

What the performance figures mean

VLT: visible light transmission
VLT describes how much visible light passes through the tested glass and film. A lower figure means a darker tested combination. The number in a product code is not a measurement of the finished window on your car.
TSER: total solar energy rejected
Use TSER to compare overall solar heat rejection under the same test conditions. A difference in TSER is not a promised difference in cabin temperature or air-conditioning cost.
IRER and SIRR: different infrared measurements
The EMEA sheet distinguishes IR energy rejection, which accounts for absorbed and re-radiated energy, from selective IR rejection. Both use the 780–2500 nm range in this sheet. Compare matching metrics; do not substitute an IR percentage for TSER.

Source: LLumar EMEA performance sheet, revision 04/20, checked on 10 October 2026. Data uses NFRC guidelines and single-pane 6 mm clear glass. Samples, manufacturing variation and the actual glass affect performance; some IRX data was recorded during product development. Ask for the current sheet for the product offered to you.

In these examples, IRX 35 and CTX 35 have close VLT figures, while IRX 35 has six percentage points more TSER. The lighter IRX 50 also has slightly more TSER than CTX 35. This shows why darkness alone is not a reliable way to choose heat performance; it does not predict the result on your vehicle.

1. Compare shade and visibility on your glass

Ask the installer to assess the existing glass and any factory tint. Compare samples in daylight and consider the view from inside, including your night-driving needs. Discuss suitable light transmission for each window before choosing a shade. A visualiser can help with appearance, but it does not measure the finished glazing.

2. Decide what the additional performance is worth

If heat control is your main priority, compare IRX and CTX at similar visible light transmission using the same regional data sheet. Then compare the actual offers: exact code, windows covered, removal of old film and installation. Without those details, a price difference between two series is hard to judge.

3. Confirm material and installation separately

Detailing Mall helps select and purchase LLumar film in Georgia. Discuss glass assessment, removal, fitting and the work schedule with an installation partner. Ask the offer to identify the material and work included, plus the documents and warranty conditions applicable to the exact product and region.

Questions before ordering

Does IRX or CTX 35 mean 35% on my car?

No. In the cited reference test, these codes have VLT values of 38% and 37%. Your existing glass also affects the finished result. Ask the installer to assess the actual window rather than treating the shade name as a measurement.

Which series is better for my budget?

Request both options for the same windows and a suitable shade. Compare the performance sheet and total scope of each offer. Stock, price and order format in Georgia need confirmation from Detailing Mall.

Can I assume the warranty shown on a foreign product page?

Request the applicable regional warranty, proof of purchase and installer conditions before ordering. General manufacturer information does not confirm the terms of a particular local sale.
